Computer Support Specialist & Computer Information Systems: Database Management or Programming- April 2014 The Information Technology Programs at HCC will prepare students for many areas of employment including Database Administrators, Computer Support Specialists and Software Developers, Applications as highlighted below. The educational outcomes for these programs at HCC include:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of terminology and structure of various programming languages, personal computers, and the use of software tools in the workplace.
  • Troubleshoot common programming and software problems and test for solutions.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to write computer programs using modern Internet-based programming languages.
  • Demonstrate the successful creation of websites, web applications, and web-based information systems that comply with generally accepted web development principles.
  • Develop, write, debug, and test simple programs in computer languages.
