Housatonic CC Foundation Director Re-Certified

Maureen Dowdle, Fairfield resident and Director of Institutional Advancement at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, has received recertification from Certified Fund Raising Executives (CFRE) International.

CFRE International is an organization of over 5,000 professionals who have met rigorous standards which include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement and commitment to service to not-for-profit organizations.

During 2007, Dowdle who is the liaison to the Housatonic Community College Foundation, has overseen the successful, first Housatonic Community College Major Gifts Campaign which has realized close to $1 million to benefit the college. Funds will be used to maximize the impact of the college on its students and on the community.

Specifically, funds will be used for scholarships, creating opportunities for student success, providing a trained, prepared workforce to meet workplace needs, expanding the Middle College Bridges Program that prepares students for college success, and sustaining support for the Housatonic Museum of Art.

A director at HCC since 1998, Dowdle is a graduate of Albertus Magnus and earned her M.A. at Fairfield University. Previously she was Director of Development at the Mercy Learning Center and was also employed at the National Organization of Junior Achievement.

She is a member of the Fairfield County Chapter of AFP, the Planning Giving Group of Connecticut, and the Council of Resource Development for Community College.
