Volunteers To Help Fill Out Financial Aid Forms

Volunteers will help low-income families, minority students, high school juniors and seniors and students who are the first in their families to attend college fill out the federal financial aid forms during College Goal Sunday at six sites across the state on Feb. 10.

The Connecticut Association of Professional Financial Aid Administrators and the Connecticut Association of Educational Opportunity Program are sponsoring the event, which will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Volunteers will provide one-on-one assistance filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. Information about the benefits of attending college, student support services, areas of study and different degree programs will be provided.

College Goal Sunday will take place at Capital Community College, 950 Main St. in Hartford; Gateway Community College, Long Wharf Campus, 60 Sargent Drive in New Haven; Housatonic Community College, 900 Lafayette Blvd. in Bridgeport; New London Science and Technology Magnet High School, 490 Jefferson Ave. in New London; Norwalk Community College, 188 Richards Ave. in Norwalk; and Wesleyan University, Wesleyan Station in Middletown.
