ENVIRONMENTAL “MINI CONFERENCE” THURSDAY, APRIL 17, AT HCC

BRIDGEPORT – Housatonic Community College is holding an environmental “mini conference” Thursday, April 17 to focus attention on important environmental issues facing the state.

The conference, which runs from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Rooms C232 and A228, will feature speakers Kat West of Sterling Planet (green jobs), Yale Univ. Environmental Risk Analysis and Policy Professor John Wargo (diesel pollution), Dr. Stephen Danzer (wetlands), state Department of Environmental Protection's Tracy Babbidge (air pollution) and Yale Geology Professor Mark Pagani, a climate change specialist.

The mini conference, part of three weeks of Earth Week observances at the college, is free and open to the public.

The college is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Bridgeport, less than 150 yards off Rte. 8 (Exit 1) and I-95 (Exit 27), a block from the Arena at Harbor Yard.
