Bridgeport Architect, Woodbridge Resident Heads College Foundation

Paul Antinozzi, AIA, has been elected president of the Board of Directors of the Housatonic Community College Foundation. Antinozzi is president of the Bridgeport architectural firm, Antinozzi Associates, now in its 53 year. The firm is noted for designing many public buildings in the area, including schools, banks, and apartment buildings.

Antinozzi says, “I am honored and excited to be taking over the HCC Foundation. Barbara Johnson, the past president, did a terrific job setting the Foundation on its current path that focuses on helping our students achieve success as well as strengthening and expanding community support for the many educational, cultural and community programs offered by the college. I look forward to going forward with these initiatives.”

Additional officers of the HCC Foundation Board of Directors include Vice-President Virginia Giuffre, vice president of Merrill Lynch, Westport; Treasurer A. Donald Janezic, CFO, Bigelow Tea Co, Fairfield; and Secretary Sean M. Carroll, vice president Merit Insurance, Bridgeport.

The HCC Foundation provides financial assistance to the college and its students beyond the fundamentals provided by the state. The Foundation generates funding for student scholarships, student emergencies, childcare costs for enrolled parents, program enhancements and support of the Housatonic Museum of Art. It is currently sponsoring a Gala to be held on Nov. 21 featuring the star of Roots, Star Trek: Next Generation, and PBS children’s series Reading Rainbow LeVar Burton. Burton is a renowned literacy advocate. The Gala will raise funds for scholarships.
