HCC To Host Entrepreneurship Events

BRIDGEPORT – Housatonic Community College will place the spotlight on entrepreneurship next week when the college joins in National Entrepreneurship Week observances. The college is sponsoring three events to focus business-students’ attention on entrepreneurship, with five local entrepreneurs offering tips for success. The events include:

  • Monday, 2/22 – 6:30-7:50 p.m. Claudomiro Falcon, President and CEO of La Guia Hispana (Spanish Yellow Pages), will discuss growing a small business. Room to be determined.
  • Wednesday, 2/24 – 6:30-7:50 p.m. Frank Busch, president and founder of Natural 10 Beauty, Inc., will talk about how to turn your ideas into a patentable product. Room to be determined.
  • Thursday, 2/25, Events Center, Beacon Hall. Panel discussion “Lessons in Excellence” will feature three local entrepreneurs telling the stories of their success. The trio includes Mary Jane Paris, President of Positive Impact and part-time HCC instructor and Housatonic Foundation Board member; Bob Abbate, President of Bob Abbate Marketing;  and Phyllis Haynes, president of Southern Relishes, LLC.
HCC offers both an associate degree and certificate program in Small Business management/entrepreneurship.
