Bartending/Certification Course To Be Offered at HCC

Starts Aug. 15, Register by Aug. 8

BRIDGEPORT- Housatonic Community College will offer a professional bartending course with S.M.A.R.T certification starting Aug. 15.

The course will cover making special drinks such as highballs, cocktails and tropical beverages, while providing the opportunity to obtain Servers and Managers Alcohol Responsibility Training™ (S.M.A.R.T.) certification, which is recognized by the Connecticut Department of Liquor Control and local police departments. You must be at least 18 years old to register.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be qualified to work in any environment that serves liquor. This includes restaurants, clubs, hotels, casinos, and catering companies.

The course, to be taught by Paul Rich, meets Mondays and Wednesdays, August 15 – August 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Room A101 in Lafayette Hall. Students must register no later than Aug. 8.

Tuition is $249. There is a $25 materials fee as well.
